काठमाडौं— सरकारले माघ १ गतेलाई राष्ट्रिय योग दिवसको रुपमा मनाउदैआएको छ। 
पछिल्लो समय स्वस्थ र सक्रिय हुनका लागि योग अपरिहार्य मान्न थालिएको छ। नसर्ने रोगको प्रमुख कारण सन्तुलित र सक्रिय जीवन शैली नहुनुलाई प्रमुख कारण मान्निछ। योगले जीवनलाई सक्रिय बनाउन मद्दत गर्छ। योगलाई जनमानसम्म पुर्‍याइ योगको महत्वबारे जनचेतना जगाउने उद्देश्यले योग दिवस मनाउन थालिएको हो। 
स्वास्थ्य तथा जनसंख्या मन्त्रालय आयुर्वेद तथा वैकल्पिक चिकित्सा विभागले योग दिवसका अवसरमा  विभिन्न साताव्यापी कार्यक्रमहरु गर्ने भएको छ। 
विभागले योग दिवसमा गर्ने कार्यक्रम, विभागले आयुर्वेद तथा वैकल्पिक चिकित्साको विकास, व्यवस्थापन गर्न केके काम गरिरहेको छ? योग र आयुर्वेदको महत्व, कसले किन योग गर्ने लगायतका विषयमा आयुर्वेद तथा वैकल्पिक चिकित्सा विभागका महानिर्देशक डा बासुदेव उपाध्यायसँग गरिएको कुराकानी।
